Overview: I am a 29 year old mother of one, engaged to a great guy who just happens to be in a wheelchair (SMA III). When we got together I never really knew anyone that had been in a wheelchair, but we connected instantly and have been together ever since. In fact, we just celebrated our fifth anniversary together.
We live in Michigan and do just about everything together. I am an incredibly creative person that spends her time blogging, making new friends, spending time with family, and working as a freelancer. My creative passion is writing. I am working on several novels in between a full-time blogging schedule and freelance projects.
When I am not writing or working I love to shop and cook. I also review products for my blog. In addition to all of this I am a full-time college student studying to become a sex therapist.
Feel free to send me an email. I love meeting new people, connecting, and making friends.
Disability
Disability Community - Member Type: Family Member
Disability Type: Physical
Disability Name: SMA III
Disability Description: Spinal Muscular Atrophy III is a muscle disease that is classified as one of the Muscular Dystrophy's.
How has your disability changed your life...for better or worse?: I am not disabled, but Dominick, my boyfriend is. Prior to meeting him I had no experience with people in wheelchairs and was somewhat intimidated by them. However, he was very kind in answering all of my questions and I soon learned that he wasn't as fragile as I might have thought. I think his disability opened my eyes to the fact that there are a lot of great people in the world that are really no different, even though they are often treated as if they are.
How have you overcome obstacles?: We work on that day by day. Everyday offers a new situation. However, I am of firm belief that there are plenty of others that have it worse than we do. Dominick has some pain issues, but he is a trooper and we love each other. Everything else seems to work itself out in the end.
What is your most embarrassing moment?: I will leave that one out, as it doesn't have anything to do with Dominick or his wheelchair.
What is your most triumphant moment?: It will be when we buy our new house and our new van. Knowing that he is comfortable is very important to me.
What are your dreams...for yourself and your peers?: I would like to be able to ensure that we have the proper equipment to better Dominick's health and see that he is as comfortable as possible. When it comes to myself, I look forward to adopting a few kids with Dominick and enjoying a career as a (hopefully) bestselling author.

I have plans of learning the Ancient Greek language and have studied Ancient Greek and Roman history to better understand my beliefs.
