Overview: Lets see I'm from a small town in Ohio. I just graduated in July with my masters in Social Studies Education. I currently work at  a library and love every minute of it. I love my family and friends more than anything, they have gotten me where I am today. Basically I just like to have fun. I'm pretty open to about anything and will try anything once within legal limits of course. Anything else just ask!

Disability
Disability Community - Member Type: Person with a Disability
Disability Type: Physical
Disability Name: Muscular Dystrophy
Assistive Technology: Wheelchair - Power (Electric)
How has your disability changed your life...for better or worse?: I do not let my disability affect who I am. I never have. God created me this way for a reason, He ultimately knows what I am suppose to do on this earth. I can use my situation to help others, to let them know that it does not have to rule your life. You are ABLE to do anything you put your mind to.
How have you overcome obstacles?:

I have worked hard to get to where I am today. I was the first person with a disability to attend regular classes when I was in school. I've pushed to make things more accessible for not only myself but others who have special needs. God, my family and friends have been there every step of the way. I would not have made it without them.

What is your most embarrassing moment?: My most embarrassing moment was when I got my head stuff under my desk my freshman year of college. I dropped something on the floor, bent it pick it up and my wheelchair rolled under the desk. I was unable to push it back, so I had to call  911 to come get me out. It was quite humiliating.
What is your most triumphant moment?: The day I recieved my masters. I never thought I would be alive to make it to that point.
What are your dreams...for yourself and your peers?: I want my future students to understand that compassion is what will change this world. It doesn't matter if you if you have a disability, physical, mental, or emotional, you can still make a difference if you choose to put others before yourself and to never let someone tell you that you can't.
