How has your disability changed your life...for better or worse?:

My disability has given me numerous opportunities that most people do not get. My disability has given me a chance to live life in a way that is different from those around me. It gives me the opportunity to teach those around me about being different, even if I am just wandering around at Walmart. I have been able to meet some incredible people through activities made for those with disabilities. Power soccer obviously being one of those. And of course its always nice to be invited backstage at concerts :)

How have you overcome obstacles?:

Honestly, life is what you make it. If you decide to sulk every day about not getting to do some things, then you are wasting an enormous amount of time that could be better spent making it better. Take one day at a time, be patient, and enjoy life.

What is your most embarrassing moment?:

Haha, well I am not really sure. I dont know if this was would be considered more embarrassing than extremely awkward but here it is. Right after my back surgery for scoliosis, I still used to sit up straight, however it took a lot of work and balance to do so. Well one day, I was at Walmart with my mom, but we separated so we could get what we needed and of course thats when it happened. For some reason, either my chair turned off, or I hit something I cant really remember, but I just fell straight forward. My head was between my knees actually almost hitting the floor haha I could definitely reach it. I couldn't reach my tilt but at least I still had my hand on my joy stick. So I drove around a little, my head still between my knees, and went into an isle to try and reach my tilt. There was a lady in the isle so I ended up just asking her, but wow. Haha I'm pretty sure that was the last time I sat up straight. Well I sit up straight sometimes now, but tilted back is much better!

What is your most triumphant moment?:

Easy. Winning the World Cup in Japan. Definitely the most amazing moment I have ever experienced. And winning nationals in the same soccer season was an amazing accomplishment as well. I have had some other triumphant moments...most of them when I moved off to college and had to figure out how to do things for myself. Opening one of those milk chugs...in the plastic bottle you know? Man that made my day lol. It really doesn't take much :)

What are your dreams...for yourself and your peers?:

I want to travel the world. Like seriously I really want to do it. I hope to start by studying abroad in Italy. Gah that would be amazing.
